Paula's background in property management began in 2002, with Resort Quest in Whistler, BC. During the four years that Paula worked for Resort Quest she excelled in a variety of roles, while gaining valuable skills in the field of property management. During this time, Paula also completed her Property Management Course.
In 2006 Paula came to the West Kootenays on a mountain bike trip. She loved it here and ended up buying a small acreage with her Partner.
With a love for working with people and the constant learning and challenges that Property Management provides, Paula decided to take her Managing Broker course through the University of British Columbia's School of Business. In 2009 she started West Kootenay Rentals and Property Management as a sole proprietor.
Several years later: 2 kids, a farm, and an incorporated Company; West Kootenay Property Rentals Inc. is now the leading exclusive Property Management Company in the Nelson/Castlegar area.

Chris moved to the Kootenays in 2008. The mild climate, mountains and longer gardening season (than Northern Alberta) brought her here. Chris is at home in the woods and on her bicycle. She is also an avid gardener. Chris can be found in the WKPR office a couple days a week organizing paperwork, managing the trust accounts, updating postings, and answering the phones.
West Kootenay Property Rentals Inc. was established in 2009 by Paula Owen. From it's humble beginnings, when Paula managed a handful of properties with her first child still attached at the hip, the company has blossomed to close to 100 units.
